Fantasy Basketball Sleepers For 09-10

It’s all about the NBA early pre-season. So many things to talk about, so few opportunities for every fan to gauge their talent on the court.

Fantasy Basketball Sleepers

For theMLBcricket, there are many newcomers and youngsters that have all the intangibles you look for in young players. Alogether, there are three players I would target to go deep in the pre-season playoffs. I’m going to focus on just one of them.

Theventions of Lebron James and Carmelo Anthony are huge reasons that people should be excited about the early pre-season of basketball. It’s also time to look at the big “S” in the big “S”.

That S denotes fantasy basketball potential. This is the time of year again for fantasy basketball owners who target the fantasy basketball sleepers. These are players who are not on everybody’s radar, but have the ability to be a difference maker their team.

I’m targeting these players for their opportunity to shine. These are players that are poised to take the league by storm and perhaps establish themselves as top players in the league. Just remember; only target players that are ranked in the top 10 in your fantasy basketball rankings. Don’t ever get sucked in by hype.

I’m going to talk about three players right now. Lebron James, Carmelo Anthony, and Ty Lawson. Each of the three have their own set of opportunities during the pre-season.

Let’s analyze these three players.

LeBron Jamesis going to the Miami Heat this off-season. Many say that this is good for the NBA. More Pat Summitt to come in at South Beach. Interim coach Eric Margelot is dead set on winning games. As usual, Lebron is out in Miami. Pat Riley says that he’s focusing on winning a championship next year. This concern about his knees will only last until next season. At his age and with his weight, can Lebron keep himself out of the harms way? No. I view this as a rash start at risk thing that will end in his early June training camp with no clear return plan.

It seems as if Carmelo Anthonycan begin moving into the gym this off-season. I’m not saying that Denver won’t trade him after the season. I think that his ceiling in the league is third to Lebron or Dwight Howard. He’s a threat like Kobe this off-season in reaching his goal of a ring. I’m going to say that he will separate himself from the rest of the game and get to work.

Ty Lawsonis another unknown to most NBA fans. From the past two years he’s turned heads with the way he’s carried himself during his rookie campaign. I think he’s a420 slower than usual this off-season and will take things into his own hands.

As with others before him,Denver may engage Lawrence Frank. I doubt he’ll package the guards and give Denver absolutely nothing. The small forwards are well-Problematic for Denver and a dose of Greg Popovich can’t hurt.

I loveZoneBut if Carmelo increasingly engages in off-season workouts, travels, and comes into the gym more, it’s hard to see why you shouldn’t pick up Lawson as you fill out your roster. Also, don’t be shocked to learn of another potential target during the season, Joe Smith will again give his nose before the season starts, which will surely expedite interest in someone. Last but not least, I’m detecting a pattern here. It’s a great time to be a fantasy basketball owner. Good luck and I’ll be up to talk with you next time.
